FAQ — everything you need to know

  • Our class runs for two hours.

  • Each package includes three cocktails per person — one arrival cocktail, made by your bartender, and another two, made by you!

  • Each cocktail class is tailored specifically to your event objectives. Choose 1 drink on arrival and 2 drinks for your group to learn how to make (and drink) from our curated cocktail list here. Your cocktail bartender will set up and pack down outside of the two hour class service time. We also do the ingredient math – based on your group size, we will prepare a comprehensive shopping list of everything you need for your cocktail event… right down to how many bags of ice you require. Due to licensing, once your booking is confirmed, we will be in touch to brief you on the process of organising the required alcohol for your class. Fear not, all other ingredients and equipment will arrive with your cocktail bartender. We supply industry approved bar equipment, giving you the complete cocktail bar experience. For your cocktail garnishes, we use seasonal, fresh produce from Queen Victoria Market, giving you the freshest tasting ingredients for your drinks (and the added bonus of supporting local).

  • We travel Victoria-wide. If your home, office or venue is located within 25km of Melbourne CBD, the cost of travel is included in the rate listed. However, if your venue is over 25km outside of Melbourne CBD, the cost of travel is calculated upon quoting your event.

  • Yes, we service indoor and outdoor events of all sizes and persuasions.

  • Our class set up time takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the number of participants and the package that has been selected. Your cocktail bartender will arrive at least 1 hour before your official class start time.

  • The choice is yours, from our curated cocktail menu. Choose 1 drink on arrival and 2 cocktails to stir, shake and sip from our menu here.

  • Our professional bartenders are RSA trained and have no less than 5 years of experience working in award-winning cocktail bars.

  • Bookings cancelled are subject to the loss of a 30% non-refundable deposit.

  • Shake Up Co. encourages and adheres to the responsible service and consumption of alcohol. For more information, see Drinkwise. We cannot and will not, under any circumstances, supply alcohol to a person under the age of 18 years. VCGLR Liquor Act 2007.

  • Absolutely! We welcome you to bring your own food and drinks. We ask that they be placed on a designated table to the side, ensuring that the tables used for your cocktail class remain clear and ready for your event.

  • Yes, we encourage you to make the space your own! Feel free to bring balloons, streamers, or any other decorations to enhance the mood and space.

  • Absolutely! If you're hosting a hens party or another special event, you're welcome to arrange additional entertainment. We simply ask that any entertainment be scheduled outside of your two-hour cocktail class to ensure a seamless experience for everyone.
